ABOUT
#Finding Your Career
I bring a unique perspective to the career and job search process -- having served on both sides of the interview table -- as a hiring manager and career coach. My background includes 10 years in corporate finance having worked for a Fortune 500 toy company, where I hired many analysts and professionals. I spent much time developing relationships with both domestic and international colleagues.
I completed my MBA and while working full-time, began teaching as an adjunct instructor -- my focus was on international finance and international management. I spent a good part of my corporate experience traveling to -- and working in -- Asia. That experience exposed me to culturally diverse work experiences and I quickly learned how to adapt my management and leadership style to a diverse team-based environment.
Teaching provided me an opportunity to bring that international perspective experience into the classroom, where I honed my coaching, mentoring and presentation skills. I created an environment where students could learn through one-on-one meetings that helped them improve academic performance.
I was fortunate enough to be able to combine my corporate experience, MBA and passion for teaching into my current role as Director of Career Services for a large, private university here in Los Angeles.
While in this role, I launched a comprehensive Career Development Program (CDP) -- a series of Boot Camps focused on resume and cover letter writing; personal and online branding; develping a personalized networking strategy, and improving interview skills. The program launched in the Fall of 2015 and since then, over 300 students have "graduated" from the program. The CDP continues to be a popular and effective program for executives, professionals, students, and alumni.
